Custom work begins with clarity. These answers explain what Ironwake focuses on, how planning starts, and what makes a project a good fit.
What kinds of vehicles and boats does Ironwake Customs work on?+
The shop focuses on classic cars and trucks, restomods, specialty vehicles, select modern performance projects, and boats requiring engine, fiberglass, or custom fabrication work.
Does Ironwake perform complete restorations?+
Ironwake’s core work is fabrication, powertrain integration, restomod systems, chassis, and exhaust. A complete project can be discussed, but paint, upholstery, and specialty finish work may require coordinated partners.
Can a large build be completed in phases?+
Yes. A phased plan can prioritize safety, reliability, drivability, and performance while protecting compatibility with later work.
How do I get an estimate?+
Start with the project planner or inquiry form. After reviewing the vehicle, goals, current condition, photos, and parts already purchased, the shop can determine whether an inspection and detailed scope are appropriate.
Do you install customer-supplied parts?+
Customer-supplied parts may be considered after compatibility and condition are reviewed. Parts already purchased do not automatically determine the final build plan.
Where is Ironwake Customs located?+
Ironwake is based in King George County, Virginia, serving Dahlgren, Fredericksburg, Colonial Beach, Stafford, Spotsylvania, the Northern Neck, and nearby Potomac-region communities by appointment.
Does Ironwake repair boat engines?+
Yes. Select outboard, inboard, and sterndrive diagnostics, repairs, service, and repower-planning projects are considered based on engine type, symptoms, access, and scheduling.
What fiberglass boat damage can be repaired?+
Localized hull cracks, impact damage, laminate concerns, gelcoat damage, decks, hatch areas, and select transom or mounting areas can be evaluated. Inspection determines whether the issue is cosmetic or structural.
Can marine engine, fiberglass, and fabrication work be combined?+
Yes. When a boat project crosses systems, Ironwake can plan the engine, mounting, controls, fiberglass structure, and custom hardware as one coordinated scope.
Does Ironwake build custom ladder racks?+
Yes. Purpose-built ladder racks can be fabricated for work trucks, service bodies, trailers, and specialty applications with mounting, load access, tie-downs, and clearance planned around the vehicle.
Does Ironwake fabricate custom roll cages and roll bars?+
Yes. Select street, track, off-road, and specialty-vehicle cage projects can be evaluated. The vehicle, occupant layout, intended use, mounting structure, and applicable rulebook shape the final scope.
